BMW X5 3.0d on order!

The first continuing story on guitigefilmpjes will be focused around our BMW X5 3.0d, that has been delivered to us 18 months ago. As time progresses, our experience, tours, and other adventures will be shared here.

Autumn 2008:

As the leasing for the previous car runs out early 2009, we have been playing with the BMW car configurator a bit, accidentally sending a request for a BMW X3 2.5i to the dealership. After seeing the BMW X3 at the dealership, it was not the car we expected it to be. The old fashioned style, the car is based on the old 3-series (E46), was a big no-go. However, we did arrange a test-drive for a BMW X5.

To sum it up shortly, the BMW X5 offered newer technology then the X3, had more room available then the BMW 5-series Touring (E61) and the 3.0d diesel engine provided a powerful yet relatively efficient power pack.
Shortly after the testdrive, a contract was signed and a BMW X5 3.0d was ordered. In the BMW plant in Spartanburg South Carolina, the car that would take us around Europa was put together, and started its long journey crossing the Atlantic
