Late 2010 BMW replaced its first generation X3 with a new generation, also known by its internal product code "F25". In contrast to its predecessor, the X3 was not produced by Steyr in Austria anymore, but the production was moved to BMWs Spartanburg plant in Greer, South Carolina, in the United States.
